A 28-year-old man drowned early in June at Johnson Creek Reservoir, in Wyoming, when he failed in an attempt to swim the width of the seven-acre reservoir, reports say.
The body of Steven Kendrix, 28, of Wheatland, was recovered early the following morning by rescue divers.
Emergency services was called for a possible drowning after receiving reports at the Laramie County Sheriff's Office that Kendrix had attempted to swim across the Reservoir, then decided to turn back when it was clear he couldn't make it. At that time, however, he was already in distress, reports say. Divers found his body about 30 yards from shore.
