Two bodies of apparent drowning victims Pauline Yambao, 44, and Kenneth Stephens Sr., 55, were recovered late this spring during the second day of a search in Lake Weir, reports say.
Reports say that Yambao, who was Kenneth Sr.'s sister-in-law, was swimming with a young child when he reportedly panicked. When Stephens saw the distress, he jumped in after Yambao and took the child to a nearby boat. When he returned to assist Yambao, they both went under.
Emergency crews searched that day, but was suspended due to bad weather. When the search resumed the following day, searchers found the bodies of the two men in about 20 feet of water roughly 150 yards from shore.
