An Embassy Suites Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama was the site of a hotel pool drowning when an 8-year-old Birmingham slipped into the water and died, reports say.
The boy drowned Saturday night, said today that the pool area had signs warning that there are no lifeguards on duty and that it is swim at your own risk.
The boy, identified as Arlue Carl Patterson IV, 8, of Birmingham, was not listed as a hotel guest and it was unknown how he got into the area or of the events that led to his death. Reports say that hotel staff pulled the boy from the pool at about 9 p.m. in the evening and called Emergency Services.
